christmas wish list

Christmas Wish List

Real Techniques Starter Set: I've wanted this brush set for a while now but have never managed to get my hands on it. All my eye brushes are from Sigma although I don't have many. I'd love to try these out.

Real Techniques Powder Brush: I already have the Expert Face brush for applying foundation but this just looks amazing for finishing off with powder as it's so big, meaning it would be quicker to apply because it covers a lot more of the face compared to the Elf Powder Brush I currently use.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: I've been intrigued about the Naked Palettes for so long. I don't own any as I found cheaper alternatives to the first two which were MUA Palettes. The colours in the third palette look so pretty which just makes me lust after it even more.

Katy Perry Killer Queen Perfume: I saw this on the side one day when I was looking in Superdrug so I had a little sniff. I couldn't make my mind up about it at first but I do really like it! I actually bought the gift set of this for my sister for Christmas because she liked it too.

Demi Lovato 'Staying Strong' Book: Demi Lovato is such a role model of mine and was so excited to find out she was bringing a book out. I love that each day there's a little paragraph with a goal underneath. I was going to rush out and by it myself but was told to wait till Christmas, so fingers crossed!

Whats in your Christmas Wish List?

ootd: checked trousers

Jumper / Primark
Trousers / Primark
Boots / New Look

Today I was just going shopping with my Mum, I had a parcel to pick up from River Island too. After a couple hours wondering around we had a nice tea at Frankie & Bennys and then as we were coming home it started snowing a bit!

It's the first time I've worn these trousers and I love them especially matched with the fuzzy jumper and boots. I think it's the first time ever that I've worn patterned trousers or anything other than jeans!

festive treats: gingerbread cupcakes

I was in the mood to bake something Christmasy and came across these Gingerbread Cupcakes. I love Gingerbread so these sounded amazing and I definitely wanted to try making them and share the recipe with everybody else!

The recipe makes 12 cupcakes and this is what you'll need....

and for the frosting...

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/Gas 4.

2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Sift the flour together with the spices.

3. Gradually mix in the eggs.

4. Divide the mixture into the 12 cases and place in the oven for 15-20 mins until golden and springy. When done leave to cool.

6. Frosting: Place 50 grams of the butter in a pan with the brown sugar and cook over a low heat until melted. Add 2 tablespoons milk and stir to form a thick glossy toffee sauce. Leave to one side to cool to room temperature.

7. In a large mixing bowl beat the butter until smooth, then start to sift in the icing sugar, stirring regularly. Add the toffee sauce and stir until completely mixed in.

8. Put the frosting in a piping bag and pipe onto the cupcakes or you could just spoon the mixture on. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon before serving.

Hope you enjoy!

maybelline brow drama

I don't have a November favourites this month as there aren't many things I've tried out other than this!

As you can see this is the Maybelline Brow Drama and it retails at about £4.99 I believe and is a tinted brow mascara. I've seen quite a few people talk about this so I wanted to try it out for myself and picked it up as it was 3 for 2 at the time so I couldn't not get it!

It took me a couple of minutes to decide whether to get the Dark Blond colour or Medium Brown as my eyebrows don't tend to match eyebrow products that are for Blonde haired people. I did go with the Dark Blond though and I'm quite glad I did as I do think now that the Medium Brown would've been to dark and you can never be too careful with these things.

Usually I would just fill in my eyebrows with eyeshadow and then I'm done but after using this it is a must in my routine.
I apply this after I've filled them in with eyeshadow to set them or if I'm in a rush I will use it alone.

Great for your travel make-up bag!

hello december

I'm so happy December is finally here, the year has gone so fast!

It's now the time where it's acceptable to put the Christmas decorations up without being judged because it was 'too early' and whack the Christmas films and music on which is my favourite thing as it really gets me in the spirit.

I really enjoy giving presents even though receiving them is just as good! The family aspect of it is my favourite though, just everybody getting together, although thats difficult for my family as they are scattered all over the place.

I will definitely be having a day soon where my Mum and I go to the German market where I live and eat kurrywurst and pretzels and drink mulled wine. I'm not all that keen on it though, I'm not much of a wine drinker myself!

One of the things I am most looking forward to this month is my younger sister coming up for an early Christmas next week because I feel like I haven't seen her in so long and it's so fun when we are together, she does make me laugh a whole lot and she's the only person who will watch Christmas films with me!

What are you most looking forward to in December and are you as excited about Christmas as I am?!

polka dots

Primark Jeans
New Look Boots

Today I was taking a trip to Ikea and a couple of other shops. I LOVE Ikea, I always get so excited about going for some reason. I wanted to pick up some wintery/christmas smelling candles but was quite disappointed that they didn't really have any.

Fluffy jumpers are one of my favourite items of clothing this Autumn/Winter, they are so cosy!
I'm also in love with these boots! I was looking for a pair of nice black ankle boots for AGES and I like these because you can see the grip at the sides and I really like that style although they aren't the most comfortable if you're going to be doing a lot of walking.

Primark Wish List #1

Primark Wish List

Primark can be a hit or miss for me. Sometimes there's nothing I like and sometimes I just want to snatch everything up as soon as possible.
I wear jeans 99.9% of the time and even though I've put a dark grey pair into my wish list  (because I only ever wear light blue jeans), I wanted to change it up a bit but I really want to get into wearing some dresses with nice thick cosy tights and boots. I also want to start wearing different trousers and I feel like the checked ones are just a subtle change to what I'm used to and comfortable in wearing. I believe they are similar to a pair in Topshop which I've seen styled which just made me want them even more!
I'm not really a pink wearing person but I just can't resist this jumper. I love cable knit jumpers anyway and this colour pink is just so pretty.

What's in your wish list?

Love,

hot dogs and heels

H&M Coat / Republic Jumper / Primark Jeans / Office Trainer Wedges

Today I was just going to a shopping centre with my mum for a few bits and bobs but ended up buying myself a pair of boots! I thought I would just throw on a jumper as it was freezing outside and would only be out for a bit, so just wanted to be casual, plus I've not worn this one in a while. Then because I've not worn these trainer wedges in a while, I thought I would put them on too as I pretty much always wear converse so it was a change! I really like this outfit.

october favourites

Beauty

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: I keep going between this brush and my Sigma Flat Top Kabuki for foundation but have recently been using this one as I love that it applies just enough foundation and it leaves a really nice, almost flawless finish. It's also really soft on the skin like most of the Real Techniques range.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner (Eastend Snob) & Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick 08: I love this lip liner because it's quite a natural warm pink rosey colour and when lipstick is put on top it really lasts. Paired with the Kate Moss lipstick its a perfect combination. In the tube it looks a really similar colour to the lip liner but when swatched it looks like a orangey, almost coral colour.

Eyeshadow Palette: I always used to forget that I had this but now I love it. It has so many different coloured eyeshadows and although most of them are a bit shimmery, and I usually prefer mattes, they are quite well pigmented. I got this a few Christmas' ago from my younger sister and have no idea where it's from but I'm sure there are similar ones on eBay.

Batisse Dry Shampoo: Dry Shampoo is my savour and I don't know what I would do without it. We all have those days where we can't be bothered washing our hair. I mostly use this on second day hair, when it's started to get a bit greasy or if it's got to the third day and I don't have time to wash it before I have to nip out.

Skincare

Neutrogena Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub: The Neutrogena range is awesome to me. I find it really helps clear my blemishes up and I will always go back to it. I like this daily scrub because with the little micro beads it makes it feel like its getting all the left over dirt from when I've taken my make up off at night and refreshes my skin in the mornings. It leaves your face feeling nice and cool and clean.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser: I would say I have Normal/Dry skin as it's mainly my t-zone that gets quite dry, especially in winter. This moisturiser is amazing as it really gives my skin moister and leaves it feeling so soft. I feel like this has also helped calm down the blemishes that I have and they are almost disappearing. The best thing is as well is that it's oil-free so it's pretty much perfect for all skin types.

Jewellery

Primark Midi Rings: I've not owned any before so when I saw these in Primark I had to get them. I love the charms each ring has and you can wear them with any outfit and most of them are plain silver.

Celtic Pendant Necklace: I love the design of this necklace and purple is one of my favourite colours, it's also the same colour as my birthstone. This was a gift from my boyfriends mum and I've worn it non-stop.

Music

CHVRCHES The Bones Of What We Believe & Lorde Pure Heroine: I've been listening to both these albums quite a bit. They're both have unique sounds and I love how almost strange Lordes lyrics are.

My Morning Routine

First thing I do when I wake up is check my phone and have a scroll through Instragram because I am obsessed!
Then as pretty much everyone likes to start out the day, I start mine with breakfast...

I like to have porridge with hazelnut/almond milk with banana, blueberries, cinnamon and topped with flaked almonds.

Whilst I'm eating breakfast I either like to watch Jeremy Kyle, as it's quite a guilty pleasure of mine, or the Shaytards on Youtube.

Then when I've finished eating breakfast, of course I like to brush my teeth to make sure there's no leftovers of food (gross). I really like this toothpaste because it tastes quite orangey and not so minty, plus it does the job!

I love using this face wash in the mornings because it has little micro beads in which makes it feel like its really getting the dirt off my face from the night before and makes my skin feel quite fresh. Then I just follow up with my Neutrogena Visibly Clear Moisturiser.

After all that I just do my normal quick everyday make-up routine and if I have time I will curl my hair. Then for the outfit...

H&M Top (Sale a while ago) // Primark Jeans // Navy Converse // H&M Coat // Primark Bag

Then I'm set to head out the door!

Common White Girl Tag

I've seen a lot of blogs/videos on this tag and it seemed quite fun so I thought I would do it too!
Here are my answers..

Favourite Starbucks drink?
It would definitely be between a carmel macchiato or caramel hot chocolate but I'll think I'll go with the caramel hot chocolate.

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
On a usual day I like to curl my hair so it can take anything from 1hr to 2!

How many selfies do you take on a daily basis?
I hardly ever take selfies, if anything it would be one.

How many Instagram followers and pics do you have?
Only 27!

Do you ever say "LOL" or "OMG" out loud?
Only if I'm joking around, never seriously.

Do you wear the same clothing item more than once?
Yes! Once I like something I'll pretty much wear it all the time or things I feel comfy in.

Are you racist?
Not at all!

How many tweets do you have?
4,361 I'm a bit Twitter mad!

Instagram, Twitter, or Tumblr?
A year or so ago I would spend every waken minute on Tumblr but now I would say Instagram. I'm constantly checking it!

What do you spend most of your time doing?
Probably watching Youtube videos.

Who are your Favourite Youtubers?
Shaytards, SacconeJolys, BeautyCrush, Pixiwoo, UglyFaceOfBeauty, Tanya Burr, Zoella & Shaaanxo

How often do you do your nails?
Whenever I can be bothered! I'm really lazy when it comes to things like that.

Are you a shopaholic?
Absolutely! I find it so hard to not buy things I really like and there's always something I want!

How many times have you watched Mean Girls?
I couldn't even answer that question, maybe at least 20.

Do you own a lot of clothes?
No not really but a girl can never have too many clothes.

Do you take pictures of your food before you eat it?
Only for the odd Instagram photo.

Do you wear makeup everyday?
Not unless I'm going out. I'm one of those people that can't leave the house without it although I wish I wasn't!

What are your average gcse's in school?
I didn't do all that well in the last years of school but I managed to get 2 B's and a D, although the D wasn't entirely my fault as I didn't realise in Scotland they do the Maths GCSE a year earlier and thought it was a practice test!

How do you usually style your hair?
If I have time I will curl it but if not, leave it natural as it's naturally wavy.

Do you always look presentable?
I try to and would like to say yes but it doesn't always work out that way! haha

So there's my answers to the Common White Girl Tag, give it go!
