christmas wish list

Christmas Wish List

Real Techniques Starter Set: I've wanted this brush set for a while now but have never managed to get my hands on it. All my eye brushes are from Sigma although I don't have many. I'd love to try these out.

Real Techniques Powder Brush: I already have the Expert Face brush for applying foundation but this just looks amazing for finishing off with powder as it's so big, meaning it would be quicker to apply because it covers a lot more of the face compared to the Elf Powder Brush I currently use.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: I've been intrigued about the Naked Palettes for so long. I don't own any as I found cheaper alternatives to the first two which were MUA Palettes. The colours in the third palette look so pretty which just makes me lust after it even more.

Katy Perry Killer Queen Perfume: I saw this on the side one day when I was looking in Superdrug so I had a little sniff. I couldn't make my mind up about it at first but I do really like it! I actually bought the gift set of this for my sister for Christmas because she liked it too.

Demi Lovato 'Staying Strong' Book: Demi Lovato is such a role model of mine and was so excited to find out she was bringing a book out. I love that each day there's a little paragraph with a goal underneath. I was going to rush out and by it myself but was told to wait till Christmas, so fingers crossed!

Whats in your Christmas Wish List?

ootd: checked trousers

Jumper / Primark
Trousers / Primark
Boots / New Look

Today I was just going shopping with my Mum, I had a parcel to pick up from River Island too. After a couple hours wondering around we had a nice tea at Frankie & Bennys and then as we were coming home it started snowing a bit!

It's the first time I've worn these trousers and I love them especially matched with the fuzzy jumper and boots. I think it's the first time ever that I've worn patterned trousers or anything other than jeans!

festive treats: gingerbread cupcakes

I was in the mood to bake something Christmasy and came across these Gingerbread Cupcakes. I love Gingerbread so these sounded amazing and I definitely wanted to try making them and share the recipe with everybody else!

The recipe makes 12 cupcakes and this is what you'll need....

and for the frosting...

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/Gas 4.

2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Sift the flour together with the spices.

3. Gradually mix in the eggs.

4. Divide the mixture into the 12 cases and place in the oven for 15-20 mins until golden and springy. When done leave to cool.

6. Frosting: Place 50 grams of the butter in a pan with the brown sugar and cook over a low heat until melted. Add 2 tablespoons milk and stir to form a thick glossy toffee sauce. Leave to one side to cool to room temperature.

7. In a large mixing bowl beat the butter until smooth, then start to sift in the icing sugar, stirring regularly. Add the toffee sauce and stir until completely mixed in.

8. Put the frosting in a piping bag and pipe onto the cupcakes or you could just spoon the mixture on. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon before serving.

Hope you enjoy!

maybelline brow drama

I don't have a November favourites this month as there aren't many things I've tried out other than this!

As you can see this is the Maybelline Brow Drama and it retails at about £4.99 I believe and is a tinted brow mascara. I've seen quite a few people talk about this so I wanted to try it out for myself and picked it up as it was 3 for 2 at the time so I couldn't not get it!

It took me a couple of minutes to decide whether to get the Dark Blond colour or Medium Brown as my eyebrows don't tend to match eyebrow products that are for Blonde haired people. I did go with the Dark Blond though and I'm quite glad I did as I do think now that the Medium Brown would've been to dark and you can never be too careful with these things.

Usually I would just fill in my eyebrows with eyeshadow and then I'm done but after using this it is a must in my routine.
I apply this after I've filled them in with eyeshadow to set them or if I'm in a rush I will use it alone.

Great for your travel make-up bag!

hello december

I'm so happy December is finally here, the year has gone so fast!

It's now the time where it's acceptable to put the Christmas decorations up without being judged because it was 'too early' and whack the Christmas films and music on which is my favourite thing as it really gets me in the spirit.

I really enjoy giving presents even though receiving them is just as good! The family aspect of it is my favourite though, just everybody getting together, although thats difficult for my family as they are scattered all over the place.

I will definitely be having a day soon where my Mum and I go to the German market where I live and eat kurrywurst and pretzels and drink mulled wine. I'm not all that keen on it though, I'm not much of a wine drinker myself!

One of the things I am most looking forward to this month is my younger sister coming up for an early Christmas next week because I feel like I haven't seen her in so long and it's so fun when we are together, she does make me laugh a whole lot and she's the only person who will watch Christmas films with me!

What are you most looking forward to in December and are you as excited about Christmas as I am?!
