New Look Hat / Primark Coat/ New Look Jumper / Primark Jeans / Primark Boots

Todays outfit was pretty much thrown together, baggy jeans and a jumper kind of day. The jumper actually says 'Romance' but of course I didn't realise most of it was covered up (DUH!) Wore my boots to keep my feet nice and warm as it's getting so much colder now. I also wore this hat for the first time out today, I'm always shy when it comes to wearing it as I've not had one like this before so I'm never sure.

I was so so excited when I heard about MAC releasing a Rocky Horror Collection and immediately wanted to know what exactly was in the collection, all the shades ect. I was most attracted to the lipsticks because of the packaging of course, which is a shiny black plastic with the famous red lips on the front. The outer packing again has the red lips on the front but inside has a black and white print of all the characters from the film.

At first, Sin was the one that caught my eye but after reading on blog posts that it was the most drying, put me off. So with that I went for the most popular of all Frank-N-Furter. After refreshing the MAC website for a good hour or two it was finally released and I quickly added the lipstick to my basket. I've actually seen people say the lipsticks sold out within 2 minutes of release!

The best way I can describe the colour of this lipstick that it's a pinky burgundy red (if that makes any sense at all). For a matte it is surprisingly creamy and so easy to apply! It didn't dry my lips out at all. I feel this becoming my new winter favourite.

If you missed out online this collection is released in stores tomorrow although I believe it is freestanding stores only!

Did you get anything from the Rocky Horror Collection?

My boyfriend heard about this place from a friend of his at work and was told it's the best pizza you'll eat. It's located at Grassmarket in Edinburgh, a nice little cosy restaurant with a good atmosphere. We went on a Friday night but I've heard it can get pretty busy.

I went for the smallest 9" pizza with chicken, garlic tomatoes and rocket. I never usually get pizza with chicken as it's never to my taste but as I was getting rocket as well I figured it would give it a different taste (if that makes sense).

I have to say it is definitely the best pizza I've ever had anyway. The tomato sauce was well flavoured and there was a nice thick layer of cheese (let's be honest we all love a load of cheese on a pizza!). I'm glad I went for the smallest as I don't think I'd have managed the medium! Even thinking about the pizza now is making me crave it again. I can't wait to go back again.

Whats the best pizza you've ever had?

Left to Right: Rimmel Lip Liner, Bourjois Lipstick, Both together

I was recently on the hunt for a dark red lipstick to wear to my anniversary dinner a couple weeks ago as I seem to have lost my Rimmel Lipstick in 107. After searching through all different brands, I just couldn't find the right shade I was looking for. Then I thought to have a quick glance at Bourjois and saw the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks and the shade 08 Grand Cru was pretty much a perfect match to what I was looking for so I grabbed it.

It has a dofer applicator just like a lipgloss which makes for smooth application. I find this to be too sheer on its own so I apply the Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Black Tulip first all over my lips then the lipstick on top. This dries matte and my lips normally dry out a lot when I use matte finishes so I tend to avoid them but this doesn't AT ALL which is why I like it so much. As I've not worn it alone I can't say how long the lasting power is but I do know that with the lipstick it lasts all day. I have worn this in the morning, had several cups of coffee and eaten and it has still been intact at the end of the day.
This is now my favourite lip combination for autumn and for the odd dinner date.

Whats your favourite lip combination or lipstick for fall?

River Island Jumper / Asos Jeans / Primark Boots

This is just a quick outfit post that I took with my phone which is such terrible quality in the first picture, I apologise! Today I just wanted to be very casual so this was a sort of throw on outfit.

Last Thursday it was my boyfriend and I's three year anniversary and to celebrate he'd booked a short trip to Newcastle. I've wanted to visit for a while as I've not properly been into the centre of Newcastle.
When we arrived we had a couple of hours till check in so we took some time to walk around the centre to do some light shopping and then and to the well known bridge to take some snaps.
When it was time we headed to the Sandman Signature hotel which was so luxurious and to my boyfriends surprise directly across the road from the Newcastle Football Stadium which we had a view of from the window.

The picture of my outfit is not very good quality as I'd taken far too long to get ready so I was in a rush to make out reservation for dinner. I wore a H&M Blouse, Asos Jeans and New Look Heeled Sandals. I loved this outfit because it was dressy but still on the casual side which is what I'm all about!
I'd definitely like to visit Newcastle again, I really enjoyed it!

This month I just have a small collection of favourite items that I have been really liking throughout August, some of which have carried through from July.

The beauty favourites are all pretty much based around the eyes and the first thing is the MUA Matte Palette. I love this palette a lot because I can use it for almost everything such as filling in my brows, contouring, using the pale shade to set underneath my eyes and of course eyeshadow. This is great for if you're travelling and for the price you can't go wrong!

After seeing Shaaanxo recommend the Collection Does It All Mascara of course I had to try it. The brush very much resembles the Benefit They're Real Mascara enabling you to get right into the corners of your lashes. This gives my lashes volume and length which I always look for in a mascara. I've never tried the Benefit They're Real but I would say it could definitely be a cheaper alternative.

I ran out of my beloved Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer but didn't want to pay another £21 to repurchase it, so instead I went into my makeup drawer and pulled out the Illamasqua Cream Concealer. I've had this for quite a while now which is why I've not shown it open, its filthy! At first I didn't like it but now I realise it was because of the powder I was using on top. This is a good coverage concealer especially for dry skin because its a cream formula so its somewhat hydrating.

This moves me on the next favourite of the month being the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush. After applying the concealer with a concealer brush, I take this to press and blend it in. I also use this to blend corrector underneath my eyes before applying concealer.

Lastly for my hair I've been loving the Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo & Conditioner. My hair feels soft even after using the shampoo and I LOVE the smell of coconut and chocolate together. As it says on the bottle it is certainly a good one for dry and frizzy hair so if you find you struggle with that give this a go!

What are your favourites this month?
Have you tried any of these?

For a couple of weeks now I've been really wanting to change my hair up. Right now its an awful shade of bleached blonde and my roots have very much come through. I've become a little bit obsessed with Kylie Jenner, from her style to makeup to hair. I've decided instead of continuing to grow my hair back long, I'm going to go shorter again, but this time into a long bob type style and I'm using Kylie as the inspiration. I've saved many pictures to show my hairdresser as I prefer to do this instead of telling them what I want so the outcome is more accurate to what I'm wanting.
I'm also planning to dye my hair back to ombre, following the colour of my roots and touching up the blonde on the ends.

I don't think I've ever looked forward to getting my hair done quite as much but I am definitely tired of my lifeless hair and everyone needs a change now and then! I also feel my hair has a fresh start after a haircut and I can begin to take care of it more but as always I forget or get lazy!
I'll be sure to post pictures after it's been done and hopefully it turns out as planned!

Who is your hairspiration?

Primark Shirt / Primark Jeans / Topshop Sandals / Primark Sunglasses

This outfit is almost all from Primark but I love it! This shirt I got a couple months ago and it's so pretty, I adore the pink and green colours together. I am pretty much living in mom jeans at the moment they are just so comfy and once again I wore my beloved white sandals from Topshop. They can be a bit uncomfortable after a while of walking but it's okay cause they look nice!

H&M Top / Primark Jeans / Primark Belt / Topshop Sandals / Primark Sunglasses

This top has been sat in my wardrobe since last summer so it was about time it got worn seeming as though the weather was actually decent after the week of rain we've had! I like wearing these Mom Jeans when it's a bit warmer as they're obviously looser fitting.
I love these Topshop sandals and I'm probably going to live in them throughout summer, considering if the weather is nice!

P.S Also I started YOUTUBE so be free to check out my channel if you wish!

I knew I was wanting some new make up products so before the weekend arrived, I did some research (as I usually do with make-up/skincare) and made a little list of the things I wanted to purchase.

The first place I went to was Urban Decay as I've stopped using powder to set my make up and have seen so many people use the range of settings sprays they have. The 'Chill' MakeUp Setting Spray was recommended for dry skin so I went with that one and it cost £20 which I thought was pretty good. You get 118ml of product and it's oil free, paraben free and has a temperature control technology which is perfect for the warmer days. It also has a pretty nice scent to it too.

Next was Boots. I wanted to get into using a face serum as I figured it would help my dry skin and even it out a bit. I read so many reviews online raving about this serum and I love Soap & Glory anyway so was definitely up for trying it. You apply this before or as your moisturiser , evening and night and it leaves your skin feeling so smooth. I'm just using it at night at the moment and I noticed that my spots had reduced even after the first night. It smells absolutely amazing, quite citrusy but to me it smells like the orange and white chocolate cookies from Sainsburys. I can see this becoming a holy grail product for me.

Lastly was MAC. I love MAC but I can only go there for lipsticks, blushes etc as I'm too pale for the foundations and concealers. I only own bright coloured lipsticks such as 'Up The Amp' & 'Pink Poodle' by MAC so I wanted a lipstick which was fairly neutral that I could use as an everyday colour or when I don't feel like wearing a bright colour on my lips. I picked up 'Modesty' which is described as a muted neutral pink and it's a cremesheen finish. I don't go for matte lipsticks anymore as my lips are awfully dry and chapped so it just sticks to them. Then I was torn between 'Well Dressed' and 'Dame' blushes but Well Dressed was just so pretty I just had to have it. It's a satin finish and is such a gorgeous pink shade. It looks perfect for Summer.

Do you own any of these? Let me know what you think!

I was on the look out for a face mask I could make at home that would be good for somebody with dry skin like myself. I came across this face mask which is so simple and only has a few ingredients which most people will already have in the house which is great. The ingredients include:

1/2 Cup Oats
1/2 Banana
1 Tablespoon Honey

First you want to mash up the banana with a fork and then add the oatmeal and honey. Then add some water a bit at a time until it becomes a creamy consistency. Apply it to clean skin, leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse. I would probably recommened using a clean foundation brush to apply this as it can be quite messy but I just used my hands as I didn't have one handy.

I actually really liked this. My skin felt really soft especially when you put your moisturiser on straight after. I also noticed when I woke up the morning my blemishes had reduced quite a bit. I'll definitely be using this a lot more often and trying out some more home made face masks!

Let me know what you think if you tried this!

As I was checking through my Instagram in a morning as usual, it was filled with pictures of celebrities looking gorgeous in some amazing dresses/outfits. I'd never really heard of the Met Gala before then but I have seen a few people describing it as the Oscars of the fashion world.
I couldn't wait to get online and see what everybody wore to the charity event and these were my top favourites although there are a couple more which include the Olsen twins and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, which I loved also.
My personal all time best dressed is Rihanna she just looks amazing. The hair, the make-up,  the outfit just UGH, amazing. No words can describe.

Who do you think was the best dressed?

Jumper - Primark Sale
Jeans - 'Jamie Jeans' Topshop
Navy Converse
Bag - Primark
Nails - Rimmel Mary Mary Quite Contrary & Ring A Ring O' Roses

I don't have that much of a nice background in todays outfit post as I forgot to take my camera to town at the weekend so had to wait till I was back home. One of my dogs, Betty, decided she wanted to join in and have her picture taken, which is surprising because she usually runs away whenever a camera is pulled out.

It was forecast rain at the weekend but was a little humid outside and felt I'd be too warm in a coat so I thought just a jumper was the best way to go incase it did rain and I'd just keep an umbrella in my bag. Thankfully it didn't rain though, yay! It's definitely my favourite jumper I own even though it's pretty simple. I think I like it so much because it's a little bit different from your standard jumper with the rolled detail around the bottom and neck and it's also almost turtle neck but not exactly. It was only £3 too I believe which is amazing.

I painted my nails on Friday night and of course because it's Spring I wanted to paint them a pastel colour so I painted them pastel purple but added the pink 'pinky' for something different and to change it up a little bit. I think the colours look really pretty together.

What's your favourite nail polish for Spring/Summer?

Tuesday, 29 April 2014

I love Spring Summer fashion, all the florals and pastel colours. These are my six must haves for this time of year.

Pastel Leather Jackets: I am so desperate to get my hands on one of these. I'm in need of a jacket for when it's not too hot to go without but its not too cold for a thick coat. I've fallen madly in love with pastel coats/jackets and have spotted people buying this pink one from Primark for £25. I'm pretty sure they also have it in white. I've not been successful in finding it yet in my Primark but I'm hoping I do soon.

Simple Boyfriend Tee: You can't really go wrong with boyfriend tees. You can get them in a range of colours and they are so easy to wear, just throw them on with jeans, shorts or tucked into a skirt , add some accessories if you wish and you're good to go. Definitely something simple that everybody needs.

Floral Mesh Shirts: I've recently purchased a floral lavender mesh t-shirt as when I saw it I had to have it. They look really nice with different coloured vest tops underneath or maybe even just a bandeau.

Skort: I'm sure everybody has seen these around now but if you haven't it's basically shorts with a wrap around the front which looks as if it's a skirt. You can wear these casual or dressed up which I like and if your'e not much of a skirt person like me they are fab.

Floral Accessories: I've been seeing a lot of floral earrings and statement floral necklaces and I wasn't really sure at first as I don't really wear that many accessories but I can see myself getting into them. I would love to get myself a lovely pair of earrings and a colourful flowery necklace.

Jelly Shoes: I have been wanting jelly shoes since last S/S now and this year I just need to have some in my life. I love that you can wear them alone or with pretty socks. They are a bit of a hit and miss with some people but I personally really like them. I used to wear them non stop when I was younger! They also come in a range of prices. I've seen them from £4 in Primark to £20 in Office and on Asos.

My boyfriend Ben and I have been wanting to go to this place for a while now but never got round to it until now. It's an american style fast food restaurant in Edinburgh that does burgers (obviously), hot dogs and also has veggie options. They also do shakes which sound amazing and floats. The prices are really good also as you can get a filling meal with refillable drinks for the same price as you would pay for say a McDonalds.

Ben went for the bacon cheeseburger with cheese fries which I knew he would, he's so predictable when it comes to food. It took me a bit to decide between a chicken burger or a hot dog but I went with the hot dog, just because it looked so good, with cajun fries. I do plan to go back and try a chicken burger in the near future.

I quite enjoyed it and I'm definitely going to go back again to try a burger!
