Recent Beauty Buys

So this weekend I went a teeny weeny bit mad on the expenditure and treated myself to some beauty items..

xoBeauty 'Flirt' Lashes - xoBeauty is owned by the Youtuber Shaaanxo and she recently added eyelashes to her website. At the beginning of the month I ordered these along with the 'Feline' lashes. I put them on then but then started to mess with them and managed to lose an eyelash! I got myself another pair and the day before they came, lo and behold I found it stuck to a t-shirt. They are lovely lashes that sit on the outer corner of your eye to create that cat eye look.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - This is a repurchase for me, I use this concealer whenever I'm putting make up on and it has amazing coverage. So far it's the palest concealer I've managed to find that has yellow undertones which is the colour Chantilly. It seems to sell out very quickly and then doesn't come back into stock for a while but I did manage to find it on the House Of Fraser website.

NYX HD Concealer - I ordered this as it was mentioned to be a dupe for the Nars concealer and as I don't like spending £21 everytime. This was £10 including shipping so I was happy to find a cheaper alternative although I don't think that turned out to be the case. I swatched this on my hand against the Nars concealer and it is a bit darker and is definitely more pink toned. I am going to see what it's like blended out as I've not tried it properly yet but when I do, I will possibly do a review on it.

Bobbi Brown Corrector - This is another repurchase. I ran out of this months and months ago but with it being £18.50, I just never got around to buying it again until the other day. I put this on under my concealer as I suffer from dark circles which is a nightmare. It can be quite heavy so I try not to put on too much.

MAC Up The Amp Amplified Creme Lipstick - I have wanted this since last summer and I finally got my hands on it. It is explained as a lavender violet shade and urgh I just love it so much.

OOTD: Casual Checks

h&m coat
primark top & trousers
navy converse
h&m chain
dorothy perkins blue ring
primark ring 1 of 5 set
barry m gelly nail polish

I apologise for the out of focus pictures, I only realised when I looked back at them but I quite liked my outfit that day so still wanted to share it.
This weekend was a typical weekend for me, getting lunch and doing a bit of shopping. I picked up some more Nars Radiant Creamy Concealor which I did a review of a while back and also got Mac 'Up The Amp' Lipstick which I've wanted since last summer I believe, so I'm happy to finally add it to my mini Mac Lipstick collection.

Contour for Pale Skin: Mac Harmony

A few weeks ago now I searched online for contours for pale skin as most contour powders can come off orange on me and/or are just too dark and if you are pale like me, then taupe shades are more suitable. I came across a few people mentioning the Mac Harmony Blush, which is a matte finish,  so I had to go and look at it myself in the Mac shop.

I went in and swatched it on my hand to begin with and then after reading some more reviews I decided to go ahead and buy it.
I know in the picture above it looks orangey but its more of a taupe brown shade but if you're not sure always check it out before buying.

That's what it looks like on the cheek after its been blended a little bit. I really like this product for contouring and am glad I came across it.

Whats your favourite contouring product?

I've been ill with a cold this week and today was the first day I've been out and been feeling a lot better. I went into town and got lunch and then it became FREEZING cold so a Starbucks was a must. I tried a Chai Tea Latte for the first time but I still can't decide if I like it or not.

What's your favourite Starbucks drink?

2014 RESOLUTIONS

I seriously have the January blues now that Christmas is well and truly over. I had such a good day and couldn't be more grateful for the presents I received.

Now that we are in the first week of 2014, I've vowed that I'm going to make this a better year for myself. Therefore I've given myself quite a few New Years resolutions although I'm never that great at keeping them, I thought I would share them never the less.

So they are my New Years resolutions, I'm determined to keep them throughout the whole year and then on. I hope to make the year 2014 better than the last and I hope everybody else has a fab year also!

Do you have any New Years resolutions?

Love,

DECEMBER FAVOURITES

So this month I have quite a few favourites. Of course it was Christmas just last week and some of the things I received I already love so much.
So here they are...

Hair & Beauty

Tangle Teezer: This brush is an absolute godsend. I had such trouble when it came to brushing my hair because for some reason it was always just so knotty and was painful to brush. The tangle teezer makes it so easy and for me it is now completely a pain free experience.

Pink Gold 24 Hour Color Tattoo: I've been getting into pink quite a bit recently and as it was around Christmas time I picked this up because I liked that it had gold flex, so it seemed fitting to Christmas, and the colour was really pretty.

Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush: I am very much in love with this brush. I've seen Pixiwoo use it a lot to blend out concealer and thats exactly what I use it for and it leaves a flawless finish as I find all the Real Techniques brushes do.

Bath & Body

Thierry Mugler Alien: I received this for Christmas last year and loved it so much that I wore it every single day so I was very happy to get it again this year. This time I have the refillable one which is great as it means it wont cost so much to get a new one as it is quite a pricey perfume in my eyes. I would definitely go and give this perfume a sniff if you haven't before.

Katy Perry Killer Queen: I smelt this in Superdrug one day and was surprised that I actually really liked it so of course I put it on my Christmas list and voila! This has become my everyday perfume and I save the Alien for if I'm going on nights out and such.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel: I've really gotten into Lush in the past few months. I've seen everybody talk about Snow Fairy and similar products so when I went in I gave it a smell and I just had to have it. It smells like bubblegum and it is UH-MAZING! I got the biggest bottle which I'm hoping I can make last the whole year (obviously using other shower gels inbetween, so don't worry I wont be smelly!) because it is limited edition and only comes out around christmas time which makes me sad.

Magic Wand: This is basically a bubble bar made into a wand which I love. It did come with a little bell on it but it fell off and I just didn't put it back on. With this you just take the wand and I hold it under the running hot water and it creates bubbles and of course smells like bubblegum and turns the bath pink! I have used this quite a few times already and will still get a good three or four uses from it.

Home

Yankee Candle 'Fireside Treats': We have had this burning in the living room throughout the winter months and it smells so good. When you walk in the whole room just smells like marshmallows. Now I have my own medium sized one, my bedroom can smell just the same.

Fashion

Nike Purple Limited Edition Vintage Blazers: I've wanted blazers for so long and was very shocked when I got them from my lovely boyfriend for Christmas. I did want grey ones originally but I'm pleased I didn't get them because I love this colour and purple is one of my favourites, also because I've not seen many people with this colour so its something different. I've worn them everyday since I got them.

Books & TV

Darren Shan 'The Vampire Prince': These books are the only ones I find I can really get into. I got the first three in the series one Christmas maybe three or four years ago and sped through it. They are quite quick to get through as they are small but a lot happens in just one book. It is firstly based on many characters in the Cirque Du Freak and then goes mainly onto vampires with the off wolf in there from time to time (no, not like Twilight). I am on the sixth book so far and believe there are twelve in total.

American Horror Story: Throughout the months of November & December I started watching this. I started to become intrigued when I'd seen the second season advertised on the telly but always though it would be scary (wuss) so never did! After seeing people talking about it and it now being on the third season I decided to start watching the first season, which is the 'Haunted House', just see what I think. I really wasn't expecting to like it but after the first episode I wanted to keep watching and would end up watching three or four episodes a day staying up till 1 or 2 in the morning. I'm now all caught up and can't wait until it starts again in January.

What are your December Favourites or your favourite Christmas presents?
