Christmas Gift Guide

I've never done a Christmas Gift Guide before but this year I thought I would put together some simple things you can buy for your Mum, Sister, Aunt, Girlfriend or any other special lady.

I was so pleased when I was contacted by Blossoming Gifts to see if I'd be interested in reviewing their lovely bunches of flowers and of course I said yes! I love fresh flowers so I was quite excited.

It's obviously that time of year now where the boots are coming out. I am definitely more of a trainer person as it's all I ever wear BUT I have seen some that have caught my eye.

This is the third and final lot of photos I have to share from my trip to New York. On the last couple of days I went to see Grand Central Station, Ground Zero & The Empire State Building. Ground Zero was so surreal as you saw all the names of the people who sadly lost their lives. The views from the Empire State Building were amazing!

Whilst I was on holiday, the first thing I couldn't wait to do was go to Sephora. I had to hold out until the last full day as that was our 'shopping day' which was quite difficult for me as there were many Sephora stores in New York so I had to be pulled away a few times.

Onto the second day now and it was incredible. We firstly did the Rockefeller Centre Tour which was really interesting followed by going up the Top of the Rock. The views were just insane! We did visit Grand Central Station afterwards but I didn't want this post to be so long with photos!

I've been back in the UK for less than 24 hours and I already can't wait to share all my photos and do lots of posts about my trip to New York. I'm going to split the photos up over a couple of posts otherwise it would be pretty long! So here is the first lot which includes a walk through Central Park and a trip to the Museum.

In two days I will be jetting off to New York City and I'm only just getting around to organising and packing my things. This is the first time I'm packing my carry on myself as it's my first trip away from the UK without being with a parent. As it's my first time, if you have any tips for me on things I should take it would really help me!

A while ago now I was looking at the Glam Glow face masks as I had heard so much about them and how good they are. The price of the masks are unfortunately a bit too pricey for me but as I carried on looking online I found this 'Indian Healing Clay'.

If you don't follow me on Twitter then won't know that I booked a trip to New York back in April. I am so beyond excited about it as I have wanted to visit for many years and is definitely one of the things on my bucket list. It is now one month until I'll be setting off so I've started to put together a little itinerary to be a bit more organised when it comes to what to do on what day.

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

As I was scouring through the ASOS sale recently, I thought I would put together some of my favourite pieces. I am loving fringing lately which is totally bizarre for me as it's not something I would usually be interested in. I am pretty gutted that not all of these are in my size but I fell in love with the floral playsuit and after staring at it for a while I made a naughty purchase because I just had to have it. I love the high wasted skirt too.

The last time I was in MAC I spotted the Extra Dimension Eyeshadows and they all looked gorgeous. After swatching a couple and being amazed I just had to have some. Most of the shadows are currently out of stock on the website but having a look at swatched of the whole range, the two I was desperate for were luckily available.

I went for Silver Sun which is on the left and Sweet Heat on the right. Silver Sun is a silver (obviously) but shines a gorgeous green metallic colour. Sweet Heat is just my favourite, it's a beautiful rose gold shade and I just seriously can't get enough of it. They are very pigmented, creamy and easy to blend. When more of them come back in stock I will definitely be grabbing some more.

Have you tried any of the Extra Dimension Eyeshadows?

Primark Blouse (Last year) / ASOS Jeans / Black Converse / ASOS Sunglasses

Even though it's currently pouring it down outside and feeling more like Winter than Summer, the other day the sun did make an appearance. This meant I finally got to pull out this blouse again which I bought last year and wore it quite a few times. I love it because of the tropical print and bright colours.

What I do in the morning is pretty simple. The first thing I do is take some of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water onto a cotton pad and wipe away any dirt that may have collected on my skin over night. Then I just moisturise with the Yes To Carrots Day Cream as I have quite dry skin so this helps really put moisture into my skin so I've got a nice smooth base before applying make up. I don't really tend to use a toner as I've often found them to dry my skin out a bit and my skin can be sensitive so I don't like add too many products.
To remove my eye make up I will use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water again on a cotton pad and just hold it onto each eye for a couple of seconds and then wipe everything away. Then for the rest of the make up, I take a small amount of The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter and massage it into my skin so it really helps to break down the make up. I then just add a bit of warm water to my face which turns the butter milky, then wipe everything off with a warm muslin cloth or flannel.
For a little exfoliation I take some of the Yes To Carrots Exfoliating Cleanser which I am really liking at the moment because apart from the small beads for exfoliating it is also creamy which makes my skin feel really nice and soft after rinsing everything off.
Lastly, I have recently started using The Body Shop Aloe Vera Night Cream and I love it. It is for sensitive skin and feels really light and fresh on the skin yet still feels very moisturising and I think this has been helping my skin a lot.

What skincare products do you like?
What would you recommend for dry/sensitive skin?

As the days are finally starting to get warmer, it's starting to feel a bit more like Summer. Although it's always seems to be forecast rain on the weekends, boo! Nevertheless I'm going to be sharing five products that I always go to in the Summer months.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Perfume: Whenever the sun comes out, I instantly reach for this fragrance. Its such a light and fresh scent and it's very fruity and floral smelling. It also has coconut water as a base note which adds to the summery-ness (if thats a word).

L-R: Up The Amp Lipstick, Pink Gold Eyeshadow, Pearl Cream Colourbase, Well Dressed Blush

MAC 'Pearl' Cream Colour Base: I pretty much use this product all year round but its perfect for making your skin look lovely and glowy. I usually apply this to all the areas I want to highlight but it could also be used as an eyeshadow.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 'Pink Gold' Eyeshadow: Following on with the cream theme, these gel-cream eyeshadows are great for the warmer days. They don't crease and are long lasting which is great. They can be worn alone, as a base/primer or you could even use the brighter colours as an eyeliner!

MAC 'Well Dressed' Blush: For me this is quite a subtle blush which I like because I'm not really much of a blusher person. It's a beautiful pink and it's a satin finish which gives a gorgeous sheen to your cheeks. I couldn't get a very good swatch of this but you can see the colour properly in the photos above.

MAC 'Up The Amp' Lipstick: I don't tend to reach for this lipstick during the colder months as it's quite bright so I feel like I'd be a bit out of place. So whenever Summer rolls around it becomes my every day lipstick. It is such a gorgeous purple with a hint of pink and is my favourite MAC lipstick to date.

What are your favourite products for Summer?

As today is the first day of June, I've made a vow to myself this month to take some time out for myself every day. I want to especially take some time to read more as whenever I get a new book it takes me around 5 months to actually finish one. The book I was reading previously I actually finished last night which is perfect as it means I can now start on my new book 'Will Grayson, Will Grayson' which I've been waiting to read since I got it for my birthday back in February.
Taking baths is another thing I love to do because it gives you that time away to relax. I pop in a Lush bubble bar or bath bomb and just lie there and stick some Youtube videos on my laptop or take a book in and hope I don't drop it! Either that or I put on a Spotify playlist and have a little jam.
Other than watching Youtube and listening to music, I obviously like to read through some blog posts and see what other people are loving or look for some outfit inspiration. Also to see what other people do to relax!

What do you do to relax?
Have you read Will Grayson, Will Grayson? Let me know what you think of it!

As this week is Mental Health Awareness Week, I thought I would something a bit different on my blog and talk about my own personal issues with anxiety.
Since I was a child I wouldn't go anywhere or do anything alone, even go and look at another rail of clothes whilst someone stood a metre away from me. If I was left in at a play group on holiday, I would cry and throw tantrums.
As I got older and had moved twice, I stopped going to school and started getting chest pains even thinking about it in the morning. I had lost contact with all my friends as I wouldn't go out or get the bus alone to meet them. I got very nervous in social situations, especially in groups or when I'm surrounded by people for example going to the cinema, I usually have to wait a week or two from when a film is first released so the screen isn't too full. I was also constantly worrying about something embarrassing happening if I was found in these situations, even though it probably never would.

I had no idea what was going on until I did searching online and my symptoms matched those with Social Anxiety and I was pretty confident in that's what I was experiencing.

My family kept telling me to make an appointment but I was telling myself that I was okay, I could make myself better so I never did. I think that might be the fact that I like to do things myself and don't like people getting involved.
It was until I broke down when I had to go off in a group alone that I decided it was time to see a GP as it had started affecting everything in my life from making friends to going on training days and meetings at work to which I actually quit my job so I wouldn't ever have to go.

After finally building up the courage, I went to see a doctor I was told to make another appointment which kind of threw me off track and I didn't make one. Then 2 weeks ago I was called for Jury Duty and a surge of panic came over me and I knew I had to do something about it so again I made an appointment.

This time I really felt I was getting somewhere. The doctor I saw this time was lovely, she asked me  some questions and gave me a questionnaire to fill out. It can be hard trying to explain how you feel to your family as they don't really understand unless they are experiencing it but I felt this doctor did.

I actually had my second appointment this morning and can finally and hopefully start to overcome what I've been living with for a long time. If you are also living with anxiety or depression, just know that you are definitely not alone as I found out more people suffered with this type of anxiety than I thought. It is also okay to do things in your own time and every step you take is moving forward.

maybelline lash sensational mascara
maybelline mascara

As I don't have many favourites this month, I thought instead I would share the one favourite I do have. When this mascara first launched I did take a look at it and wasn't so keen with look of it as I thought it looked very clumpy. I did obviously end up getting it thanks to my mum who had picked it up along with another Maybelline item but because it was 3 for 2 and she couldn't find anything else, I threw one in the basket for myself to give it a try after the woman at the tills said good things about it.
Of course after that I saw a lot of Youtubers and Bloggers also raving about this mascara and how good it is so how could I not try it right?!

It has a plastic wand that is curved which nicely coats all your lashes and can get right into the base of them. I love this because it separates my lashes which I always look for in a mascara and adds some length to them. My biggest worry about this mascara was it clumping and for me it doesn't really do that at all. The only con I have with it is that it can tend to sometimes transfer onto my brow bone but other than that it is a definite win for me. I think it may even come close to being just as good as the Max Factor False Lash Mascara.

Have you tried this mascara? What do you think of it?

The 90's lip has been a big trend for a good while now and I totally get why. It can accompany almost any make up look, if not all and it suits everybody.
I recently got into the more darker shades of brown after seeing it on a few people and just loving the way it looked. For a long time I had my eye on MACs Styled In Sepia but had no idea it was limited edition so when I finally came to order it online it was gone *insert crying emoji*. So with that I got searching to find a new shade to go with and finally came across Double Shot.
It's an amplified which is one of my favourites as the formula is lovely and creamy and works well with my dry lips!

Top - Oak Lip Liner, Bottom - Double Shot Lipstick

It's a gorgeous warm mocha shade and I like to pair it with MAC Oak Lip Liner which is also a recent favourite of mine. Other ways I like to wear Oak it by itself or with a nude lipstick such as Pure Zen over top.

New Look Coat // Primark T-Shirt // ASOS Jeans // Nike Air Max Thea

As it was really windy and raining at the start of the day, I went for a casual 'throw on' outfit. I find ASOS jeans really comfortable so I decided I would get this pair in washed black as the only other pair of black jeans I have are ripped. I can't get enough of these Nike trainers they are the most comfy trainers I have ever owned, I wish I could get more pairs of these in different styles.

Even though February is only a couple of days shorter than the rest of the months, it feels like it goes by so much quicker. Once again I've not really bought anything new this month but I've been enjoying these products, two of which were birthday gifts.

Friday, 6 February 2015

I've never been much of a going out person, so when Friday night comes around I like to have a bit of chill time which mainly includes reading blogs, watching some Youtube vlogs then onto some Disney films and having a little pamper with a face mask. I love this brand of face masks as they're so cheap but work just as good as others.

Tonight is the Celebrity Big Brother Final so I will be cosying up with a nice big cup of tea and watching that too, my favourite has been Michelle!

Hoping you have a pleasant weekend,
